I recieved Ripple as a free gift on Coinbase.
They are doing an event called Coinbase Earn, where you can recieve coins for free.
I kept my Ripple pretty long, but i sold them weeks ago. Unfortunately I did this before the pump of ripple, thats a bit sad. I did some research about ripple, but i don't like the concept of this currency.to be honest. Thats why I rate this with three stars. If you want to buy Ripple, you can do this on Coinbase

Ripple is a coin I use mainly for the fast and reliable transfer of small sums. Due to its relative centralization and low transfer fees, XRP is perfect for payments. However, you should keep an eye on the exchange rates. Since it sometimes drops over quite long periods, I don't think Ripple is really suitable as a store of value.
The crypto community has always been divided on the subject of Ripple. For some, it is an evil bankster-coin, for others it is a useful transfer currency for sending international payments. Both arguments have their merits, but the discussions about Ripple have become somewhat ridiculous. Those who do not like Ripple dont have to use it.
If Ripple manages to be used by even more banks and financial service providers, I see it as an important link between the traditional financial market and the crypto-scene.
As a exchange for Ripple I can recommend Bitfinex and Bitpanda, as a wallet I find BRD-Wallet and the Hardware-Wallet Ledger most convenient.
